HCMC computer companies fined for software piracy

IP News from duytho.comTwo major Ho Chi Minh City computer companies were each fined VND25 million (US$ 1,583) after a surprise raid Wednesday found over 60 computers in their premises with pirated software.

One hundred twenty illegal CD-ROMs were also found during the inspection, which was conducted by the Ministries of Culture and Information, and Public Security.

The companies, Nguyen Hoang and Thanh Nhan, were fined for violating Intellectual Property rights.
