A scheme to develop national Vietnam Value Inside trademark until 2010 was approved by the Prime Minister on November 25.
Developing the national trademark is part of a long-term trade promotion programme with the aim of labelling products with trade names and details of their origin.
Enterprises from all economic sectors are entitled to take part in this programme, with the Trade Ministry to grant rights for use of the national trademark on any product that meets the programme’s requirements.
Producers with the right to bear the national trademark, whose products retail in domestic and foreign markets, will receive consultation on the registration of trade names, geographical instruction, and the name of products’ origins, market research and export activities.
They will also receive assistance in advertising in domestic and foreign markets within the framework of national trade promotion programmes. Furthermore, they will be entitled to take part in the Prime Minister’s annual export prize.
Under the programme, seminars on building products’ labels and short-term training courses on trademarks and the improvement of business capacity will also be held.
